HOLIDAYS.IO (referred to as HIO) Online Booking and Reservation System Provider.
MARKETPLACE OPERATOR (referred to as MPO) Local Inbound Tour Operator.
COUNTRY (referred to as Destination) the travel destination that Travellers book services for.
SERVICE PROVIDERS (referred to as OPERATOR) responsible for delivering booked service.
These Destination-Specific Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made on mauritius.holidays.io, administered by HIO's MPO (Marketplace Operator ) a Local Inbound Tour Operator LRT (LOLOTTE RENTAL & TOURS LTD), made by Travellers for services offered by Operators (Service Providers) holding tourism service license issued by the Tourism Authorities of the Republic of Mauritius.
The below terms apply for services booked and paid for through mauritius.holidays.io.
The below terms supplement the HIO (Holidays.io) Global General Terms & Conditions. Where there is a conflict, these Mauritius terms apply to bookings made on mauritius.holidays.io.
Role of Lolotte Rental and Tours as MPO
Local Management: LRT (Lolotte Rental and Tours), as the Marketplace Operator (MPO) for Mauritius, is responsible for managing all listings, services, and communications provided through the Mauritius section of Holidays.io. The MPO ensures that Operators (Service Providers) listed on the platform are compliant with local regulations and standards.
Communication: All official communication regarding bookings, cancellations, modifications, and disputes for services in Mauritius will be managed through the platform. Any communication with LRT as MPO must be carried out via the Support Ticket system within the HIO platform for proper tracking and record-keeping.
In cases where communication is through other lines of communication, it is recommended that the Traveller, as soon as possible, access the messaging system and refer to the respective communication.
Local Support: LRT provides localised customer support to assist Privilege Travellers (HIO account holders) with inquiries, booking-related issues, and other concerns that may arise during their visit to Mauritius.

Booking and Payment Terms
Currency and Pricing: All prices for services booked in Mauritius are listed US Dollars (USD) or as otherwise indicated on the platform. Travellers will be able to view final prices inclusive of all applicable VAT and fees before completing their booking. Tourism tax applies but paid directly to accommodation providers upon check-in.
Payment Processing: LRT can ensure secure, reliable, and trusted payments for services provided by The MPO and listed Operators in Mauritius.
Refunds and Cancellations: Any refunds or cancellations for bookings made in Mauritius are subject to the specific cancellation policies outlined by the Operators at the time of booking. LRT may not have the capacity to manage refunds through online processing, in which case any refund may be through bank transfer.
Local Legal and Regulatory Compliance
Licenses and Permits: All Operators offering services through mauritius.holidays.io are licensed in accordance with Mauritian laws and tourism regulations. LRT ensures that each Service Provider has the appropriate permits and licenses to legally offer their services.
Travel Requirements: Travellers are responsible for ensuring they meet all legal and health requirements for entry into Mauritius. This includes having a valid passport, visa (if applicable), and any required vaccinations or health certificates. LRT and HIO bear no responsibility for issues arising from a Traveller’s non-compliance with local entry laws.
Insurance: Travellers are advised to obtain personal travel insurance to cover health, travel interruptions, and unforeseen emergencies. Neither LRT or HIO provides insurance coverage for bookings or services offered in Mauritius.
Service-Specific Terms
Accommodations: Operators offering accommodation services in Mauritius must comply with local safety and sanitation standards as regulated by Mauritian law. Travellers will be informed of any local tourism or environmental fees that may apply at the time of booking or during their stay.
Tours and Excursions: All tours, excursions, and activities provided through the platform are operated by licensed Operators. Some tours may require minimum group sizes or have seasonal availability, which will be clearly indicated on the booking page. Travellers may have to sign waivers to participate in the respective activities. Travellers refusing to sign such waivers will lose their right to participation and right to refund.
Car Rentals and Transportation: Car rental services offered by local Operators in Mauritius are subject to the specific rental terms outlined by each provider. Travellers must hold a valid driver's license (international or local as applicable) and comply with all local traffic laws.
Force Majeure and Local Conditions
Weather and Natural Conditions: The Republic of Mauritius is subject to tropical weather conditions, including cyclones and heavy rainfall, especially during certain months. Travellers are encouraged to consider these conditions when booking activities such as outdoor excursions or boat trips. Operators reserve the right to cancel or reschedule activities due to adverse weather conditions.
Unforeseen Events: LRTs, as the MPO for Mauritius, will not be held liable for any cancellations or interruptions due to unforeseen events such as natural disasters, political instability, or other force majeure events. In such cases, MPO and HIO will assist Travellers with alternative arrangements or in obtaining refunds where possible.
Dispute Resolution
Local Disputes: In the event of a dispute between a Traveller and an Operators in Mauritius, the MPO (LRT), will assist in mediating the issue through the HIO Support Ticket system. All communication related to the dispute must be conducted within the platform to ensure transparency and accurate record-keeping.
Escalation of Issues: If a dispute cannot be resolved locally, HIO will step in to mediate on behalf of both the Traveler and the Operators. HIO reserves the right to issue refunds or alternative resolutions based on the circumstances and the applicable terms of the booking. The HIO decision is final.
Liability and Indemnity
Limitation of Liability: Lolotte Rental and Tours, as MPO for Mauritius, is not liable for any damages or losses suffered by Travellers as a result of booking services through the platform. The responsibility for the quality and delivery of services lies with the individual Operator.
Indemnity: By using the Holidays.io platform, Travellers agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lolotte Rental and Tours, its employees, agents, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from their use of the services booked through the platform.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Mauritius and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Mauritius.
